The Membership can only be used for admission by the person named on the front of the card and we may check Membership cards and photo ID on entrance to the park. This photo and any personal information you give us will be stored on our secure database, and will be used solely for identification purposes and will not be available to third parties. Your photograph will be used only for the administration of the Membership scheme. All the data we collect will be treated as confidential and used in keeping with our obligations under the Data Protection Act 1998. We may from time to time analyze your data. Information collected for fundraising purposes is collected on a server we own and maintain. The main server is housed with a hosting company whose privacy policies conform to our own.
Information in our website logs is not personally identifiable, and we make no attempt to link that information with the individuals that actually browse the site. The server collects information about the date and time in which our web site was accessed and the internet address of the server from which you linked to our site. We may also track, anonymously, a user's movement within the site. We use this data to improve our site performance and to evaluate traffic statistics, such as the times of day and days of week at which we see peak traffic, and to assess the relative popularity of different areas of the site.
We make every effort to maintain customer confidentiality when securing an online payment. This includes ensuring the security of your credit card details and other personal information. All of your personal information is encrypted as it travels over the internet. When you make a booking, you enter a secure internet site (indicated by the letters https:// in the address bar and or a padlock displayed in your web browser). To protect you against credit card fraud (where someone has discovered your credit card details but do not have your card), you will be asked to enter the unique security code printed on the back of your payment card.
The Howletts Wild Animal Trust (HWAT) & The Aspinall Foundation (TAF) & Howletts & Port Lympne Estates (HPLE) uses Google Analytics to collect data about traffic through our website via Google advertising cookies and anonymous identifiers. In addition to data collected through a standard Google Analytics implementation, we use the following advertising features: Remarketing with Google Analytics, Google Display Network Impression Reporting, DoubleClick Platform integrations & Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting
TAF & THWAT will not facilitate the merging of personally-identifiable information with non-personally identifiable information collected through any Google advertising product or feature unless there is robust notice of, and the user's prior affirmative (i.e., opt-in) consent to, that merger.
If you wish to opt- out of Google Analytics tracking please visit and install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Links to third party websites
TAF & THWAT & HPLE website contains hyperlinks to many other websites. This information is supplied in good faith, in case it is of interest or use to the our website users. TAF & THWAT & HPLE are not responsible for the content or functionality of any of these external websites.
Display Advertising & Analytics
We use display advertising to show our banner advertisements on various websites and social networks. This drives traffic to our website, but also enables us to show specific banners to users who have visited our website. You can opt out of Google Analytics for Display Advertising, and customise Google Display Network ads using the Ads Preference Centre
The ads are displayed by third-party vendors, including Google across the internet. The Howletts Wild Animal Trust and Howletts & Port Lympne Estates use first-party cookies and third-party cookies together to inform, optimise, and serve ads based on user's past visits to the website.
We are committed to providing our supporters with ways of monitoring and amending the information you provide to us, and are currently developing the tools to do so.
Our online payment supplier's pages use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL): a security protocol that provides communications privacy over the Internet. The protocol allows client/server applications to communicate in a way that is designed to prevent eavesdropping, tampering, or message forgery. It encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read as the information travels over the Internet. While on a secure page, such as our donation form, the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Opera, Netscape Navigator, and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when you are just 'surfing'.
Finally, the servers that we store personally identifiable information on are kept in a very secure environment. Find out more about our secure UK data centre provided by webfusion.co.uk.
