IUCN STATUS: Near threatened
Found in west Africa they are the smallest species of baboon. They spend most of their time on the ground but still use trees to rest in. Guinea baboons form large groups of up to 200 individuals and are very social animals. Females give birth to a single infant, which is nursed until about 6-8 months.
