Mother's Day Afternoon Tea
Mother's Day is a time to celebrate our wonderful mums! Show your mum just how much you appreciate her with an afternoon tea experience that is as amazing as she is at Port Lympne Reserve.
Our talented pastry chef has curated a special Mother's Day Afternoon tea menu, served in the Orangery and in the Port Lympne Mansion from 12pm on Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th March 2026. Don't forget, this is a Port Lympne afternoon tea, so your admission to the reserve and seats on our iconic truck safari are included! Book for Sunday 15th March and your booking will also include a glass of Gusbourne sparkling English wine.

Afternoon Tea
Afternoon tea is served on traditional tiers, layered with a selection of finger sandwiches and savoury bites, delicate pastries and desserts and of course scones with plenty of clotted cream and seasonal jams. A glass of Gusbourne sparkling wine (or a mocktail) is included for Sunday bookings only, so you can show your appreciation to your mum with a sparkling toast!
Admission to Kent's biggest wild animal park
Your special day includes admission to the 600 acre Port Lympne Reserve. Spend the day working up an appetite as you spot over 900 rare and endangered animals whilst you stroll along the wooded pathways and explore the landscaped gardens surorunding the Mansion Hotel.
Safari Adventure
Our iconic truck safari is included in your afternoon tea experience. You'll encounter herds of free roaming deer and antelopes, spot our elegant giraffes, plus Kent's only spectacled bears and many more amazing animals when you head out on your own safari adventure.

The venue
You'll be taking tea in historic surroundings. Imagine sipping tea and nibbling delicate treats, while taking in the same stunning views of the Kent countryside as the Prince of Wales, Lord Mountbatten, Winston Churchill, Charlie Chaplin and many other famous former guests to the historic Port Lympne estate.
The Orangery
Our stunning glass orangery and manicured lawn are a creative salute to the theatrical entertainment style of the Gatsby era. Surrounded by nature within the tranquil gardens, the elegant Orangery is the perfect space to enjoy a quintessentially British afternoon tea with your mum.
The Spencer Roberts Room
Arthur Spencer Roberts' stunning hand-painted murals fully encompass this cosy drawing room within the Cape Dutch-style mansion. Take in the enchanting artwork at your leisure as you enjoy delicious sweet treats and savoury bites served in historic surroundings.
The Long Room
The Long Room at the heart of the 1920s mansion blends opulent country house tradition with the exotic tastes of former owner Sir Philip Sassoon, who commissioned its striking hand-painted animal murals. The views over the western terrace into the lush gardens provide the perfect backdrop for your decadent afternoon tea experience.
