Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve is looking for an Afternoon Tea & Terrace Supervisor to help deliver unforgettable experiences for our guests. In this hands-on, guest-facing role, you will lead by example on the floor, ensuring Afternoon Tea and Terrace service runs smoothly and professionally.
You’ll oversee and motivate the team, maintain high service standards, and ensure all areas are impeccably presented. From briefing the team and delivering warm, attentive service, to monitoring guest satisfaction and responding to feedback, your leadership will be key to creating exceptional moments for every visitor.
In addition, you’ll support the Afternoon Tea & Terrace Manager with stock control, service planning, and occasional cover in the restaurant and event operations, helping maintain seamless, high-quality service across all areas. Who we are looking for:
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Afternoon Tea & Terrace Supervisor with a passion for delivering exceptional hospitality. You will have prior front-of-house experience, ideally within a high-quality hospitality environment, and a proven track record of leading, coaching, or supporting a team. Confident in handling guest feedback and resolving issues, you’ll ensure every visitor enjoys a memorable experience.
You should have strong knowledge of food and beverage service, including Afternoon Tea, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work calmly and efficiently in a busy environment. Exceptional communication and leadership skills, combined with a genuine passion for customer service, are essential. We’re seeking someone warm, confident, and professional, with a proactive approach and meticulous attention to detail. You will thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, motivating your team while maintaining high standards.
Contract details:
Basic rate of pay is £12.32 per hour, plus a guaranteed share of service charge. This role guarantees a minimum of 30 hours per week, worked over a flexible rota including weekends and bank holidays, where working hours may vary depending on business needs. A reliable form of transport would be essential due to the remote location of Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve. All applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
