***HOWLETTS 5K SPRING RUN ANNOUNCEMENT***
Following the latest advice of the coronavirus outbreak on March 16, 2020, we have spoken with Sporting Events UK and together we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Howletts Spring 5K Run on 29th March 2020.
We have thought long and hard about this and looked at all options whilst consulting with all the statutory bodies, Run Britain and of course following the latest government advice. It is clear to us that it is in the best health and safety interests of you, our runners, our own team and volunteers if we cancel this run.
Sporting Events UK will automatically transfer any participants signed up to the Howletts Spring 5K to our Howletts Halloween Run on 1st November 2020. Sporting Events UK will be contacting all participants regarding this and options for refunds will be given. An email will also be sent out from our team to all participants regarding fundraising and the option to take part in a Virtual 5K so you can still claim your bespoke elephant medal! Please bear with us whilst we get this all finalised. Thank you, as ever, for your support.
Our brand new event! Enjoy a Spring 5K at Howletts Wild Animal Park. Enjoy a gentle 5K route through the park and see how many animals you can spot including our brand new elephant baby!
Why take part in the Howletts Spring 5K?
In 2019 The Aspinall Foundation rescued 11 Elephants, 4 Giraffe, 24 Wildebeest and 18 Buffalo from a reserve struggling desperately with severe drought and very little food. The animals were relocated to new reserves where they are now well fed, watered and protected. This year we are raising funds for our South Africa Emergency Fund to ensure the future of many other Elephants and African wildlife that are in desperate need of rescue. By taking part and fundraising for the Howletts Spring 5K you will be directly assisting in this vital conservation work and saving wildlife from extinction.
Bring your family and friends to support you. The 5K run both starts and finishes at our event village on the grass outside of the main park. This is a great spot for spectators to join us for free where they can enjoy stalls, food, drink, entertainment and more!
Race entry does not include park entry after the race has finished. Spectators will have to pay park entry prices if they wish to enter the park.
