Lynx lynx carpathicus
Carpathian lynx are a subspecies of the Eurasian lynx, found in the Carpathian Mountains. The Eurasian lynx is the largest of the 4 species of lynx, with longer hind limbs perfectly adapted for springing. They have long, dense coats which are thicker in winter, to provide protection from the elements, as well as long, dense, shaggy hair that covers their paws acting as snowshoes. The Eurasian lynx can kill prey three to four times its own size.
