Part time role: Working 24 hours a week, 6 hours per shift (4 days on, 4 days off)
We are seeking an experienced Night Operations & Security Officer to join our team.
Reporting to the Park Operations Manager, the successful candidate will ensure that Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve’s estate, accommodation areas, animal enclosures and offices remain safe and secure overnight. Responsibilities will also include acting as the night PR cover, as well as supporting the Guest Relations & Park Operations Departments when required.
The Role:
- Monitoring the status of the estate and accommodation areas, off-site storage facilities and car park, through regular vehicle and foot patrols and CCTV monitoring.
- Ensuring all areas are secure, identifying and responding appropriately, notifying managers of significant incidents.
- Monitoring all operational alarm systems responding to activations.
- Identify and report any maintenance issues, highlighting areas of concern, contacting emergency call out contractors to resolve incidents affecting the guest experience and / or the park’s operational capability.
- Performing the role of PR out of hours, dealing with incidents, administering first aid, and coordinating a response to emergency situations such as fire evacuation, animal escape, I.T. and utility failure.
- Completing a face-to-face handover, highlighting relevant overnight issues to the guest services team supervisor/manager.
- Answering the concierge phone, dealing with any queries, ensuring handover notes are completed
- Checking guest golf buggies are parked safely ensuring that those that are electrically powered are connected to charging points.
- Assisting guests with any requested items for delivery to their rooms, as well as helping with late check-ins or early departures
- Assisting the daytime operations team with identified overnight tasks
The successful candidate will have:
- A recognised qualification or previous experience in a security operative/night porter role.
- Excellent time management, and practical problem-solving skills.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and demonstrate a customer focused approach.
- Confidence in using most common IT hardware and software systems, particularly MS Office 365 and CCTV products.
- Good working knowledge of GDPR, the laws applicable to CCTV usage, Health and Safety and Fire Safety regulations. Follows working practices and safe systems of working.
- Good interpersonal skills, confident and knowledgeable when communicating with guests and members of staff.
- Responsibility for their place of work and tasks allocated to staff by managers and supervisors.
- Great attention to detail, taking great care in their personal appearance and any displays they are responsible for.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- A full valid UK driving licence including groups B, BE, B1 as a minimum. (Manual gearbox)
This is a permanent role, working 24 hours over 8 days (4 days on, 4 days off). Working times will require flexibility between the hours of 8pm – 8am. This can include weekends and bank holidays. All applicants must have the right to work in the UK. A reliable mode of transport is recommended due to our remote location.
