Make your summer days the coolest ever!
Journey through the Woodland Walk at Howletts to come face to face with life sized prehistoric creatures. As you explore the twists and turns of the trail, you’ll encounter animals that once roamed the frozen lands of the Ice Age, including the mighty mammoth, ferocious sabre-toothed cats and the impressive giant sloth to name a few!
Visitors to the Animals of the Ice Age will learn incredible facts posted on informative signage, which will tell the story of the animal kingdom as it was, over 2.6 million years ago.
Expect to be taken by surprise as you keep discovering these amazing beasts along the trail keeping kids and parents on their toes and on the lookout.
Plus, with summer just around the corner, you’ll be able to enjoy not only Animals of the Ice Age, but also take part in loads of free activities taking place every day from Saturday 21st July to Sunday 2nd September!
Follow the clues around the park to identify different animal tracks, join our Education Presenters for guided tours of Animals of the Ice Age and discover more about your favourite animals by catching our fact packed animal talks.
During the six weeks of summer, we’ll also be holding our popular Twilight Tours and Elephant House Tours, priced at £15 per adult and £12 per child, plus admission price, with a discount for Annual Park Members, so you can experience a behind the scenes sneak peek!
Don’t forget, our incredible Treetop Challenge and Animal Adventure Challenges will be open throughout the summer. Once you’ve explored the park and seen the largest herd of African elephants in the UK, watched the gorillas and spotted our cute infants, walked with lemurs and said hello to the big and small cats, you can test your skills on our fun obstacle courses too!
