We currently have a fantastic opportunity to recruit a Ranger, who will run guided daily safaris using game viewing Land Rovers, deliver educational talks to school groups, visitors and guests, facilitate animal encounters and host guest at our various accommodation. The successful candidate will also work alongside Keepers across all our animal sections as and when needed, along with taking bookings for safaris and handling enquiries from other departments within the Park. Please note that this position involves working at both Port Lympne Reserve and Howletts Wild Animal Park.
You will need outstanding customer service skills and understand the importance of putting the guests' needs first. You must have excellent knowledge of conservation issues and endangered species worldwide to act as a tour guide as well as excellent hosting skills to provide our guests with a truly unforgettable experience.
The ideal candidate will be FGASA qualified, hold a conservation related degree or have exceptional experience in guiding guests in the outdoors. You must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and be comfortable presenting to groups of people. You will also need to be computer literate with good written and excellent verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to maintain accurate records and have exceptional attention to detail.
A valid UK driving licence is essential as well as a reliable form of transport to travel between the parks.
Working hours are 45 hours per week covering shifts over five days a week, shift times may vary with either early start or late finish. This can include weekends and Bank Holidays.
