Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve and Howletts Wild Animal Park are currently seeking experienced Motor Mechanics to join our team, who will provide maintenance and servicing for a variety of company vehicles.
As a Motor Mechanic, you will carry out emergency repairs and general maintenance work on a wide range of vehicles across both parks, including small commercial vehicles, 4x4 SUVs, agricultural tractors and machines, large off-road goods vehicles, plant, trailers, minibuses, and golf buggies.
Who we are looking for:
A qualified motor mechanic or vehicle technician with relevant certificates to demonstrate professional competency such as relevant diplomas or City and Guilds certificates. You will have evidence of continuous professional development in motor vehicle repairs, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience. You will have the capability to carry out scheduled inspections and maintenance of vehicles, as well as pre-MOT checks. You must have a flexible attitude to work, with the ability to work with minimum supervision. It is essential for the successful candidate to hold a full valid driving licence including groups B, BE, B1 as a minimum. Experience driving commercial and/or agricultural vehicles would be advantageous.
Contract details:
This position is full time: 40 hours per week, worked five days out of seven, Monday to Friday, with overtime available on weekends. Working hours are generally 08:00 – 16:30, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
We have positions available at both Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve and Howletts Wild Animal Park, although the successful candidates might be required to work across both sites on the occasion. All applicants must have the right to work in the UK. A reliable mode of transport is recommended due to our remote location.

Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve is a world-renowned wild animal park set within 600 acres of Kentish savannah. The Reserve is home to some of the world’s most rare and endangered animals and offers luxury short breaks accommodation, free roaming animal safaris, once-in-a-lifetime animal encounters and exquisite dining experiences.
Our sister park, Howletts Wild Animal Park is located near Canterbury and set within 90 acres of land. Howletts is home to over 300 rare and endangered species, including Kents only giant anteaters, the largest herd of African elephants in the UK, and more gorillas, leopards and monkeys than any zoo in the county!
Most importantly, every one of our employees is part of real conservation in action and their efforts have contributed to animals such as black rhino and western lowland gorillas being returned to their natural habitats in collaboration with our partners at The Aspinall Foundation.
