Visitors to Howletts Wild Animal Park, near Canterbury and Port Lympne, near Ashford this weekend can enjoy a grrreat day out on the first weekend of the summer holiday, as staff and keepers celebrate Global Tiger Day.

Highlights of the weekend will include the chance to win an exciting tiger encounter at Port Lympne, join the dedicated Education Team for tiger themed talks, watch enrichment exercises designed to stimulate the tigers’ senses and many more activities at both parks.

Adrian Harland, Animal Director said: ‘Global Tiger Day is a fantastic opportunity for visitors to learn all about these majestic animals and with plenty of activities going on at both parks there should be something to keep the whole family entertained on the first weekend of the summer holidays.’

Howletts is home to seven tigers from Bengal and Sumatran to a firm visitor favourite, 11 month old Amur cub – Arina, whilst Port Lympne is home to Indian and Amur tigers.  Visitors will be able to see the tigers at both parks throughout the weekend and even earn a tiger badge everyday at the Education Centre at Howletts and the Herb Garden at Port Lympne, visitors are advised to check the information boards for times of activities.
