Eggciting Easter Activities At Howletts and Port Lympne

Howletts Wild Animal Park, near Canterbury and Port Lympne Wild Animal Park, near Ashford have plenty of activities to keep the whole family entertained this Easter break.

Visitors can join in with activities such as building hotels for native bugs and bumblebees and take part in a game of bug bingo at Howletts and at Port Lympne, join in with the eggciting animal themed Easter egg hunt to be in with a chance of winning an amazing prize.

Carole Thomas, Communications Manager said: ‘The Easter holidays are perfect for a day out at the wild animal parks with the family, there’s so much to see including our Amur tiger cubs and northern Chinese leopards at Howletts and at Port Lympne you can experience an African safari to see giraffe, black rhino and many more.’

Both wild animal parks are open every day throughout the Easter holidays and visitors are encouraged to pick up a free Rangers Log Book at the gatehouses and follow the self guided trails to discover fun animal facts and join the Education Team for their fun and lively animal talks, times will be displayed on the information boards.

Carole added: ‘There’ll be something to keep everyone entertained this Easter at Howletts and Port Lympne and with the continuation of our great value Passport ticket, visitors can come back as many times as they wish for a year – so if you missed something on the first visit you can catch it on the next.’

Howletts is home to the largest herd of African elephants in the UK and world’s largest collection of western lowland gorillas. Visitors can explore 90 acres of parkland and take part in the Treetop Challenge, an obstacle course set in the trees, with rope bridges and zip wires. Port Lympne is one of the largest wild animal parks in the UK covering over 600 acres.  Visitors to the park can jump on board one of the trucks at Basecamp at no extra charge, to experience the safari and later explore four on foot zones to see western lowland gorillas, big cats, small cats and many more animals.
