Accessibility at Howletts Wild Animal Park

Parking
The car park is very large with parking areas on the grass and on hard standing. Designated disabled parking is located next to the gatehouse and entrance to the park on a concrete surface.
Parking is free and there is a designated area for coach parking.
Buildings Access
There is a slight slope into the gatehouse at the entrance to the park.
Access to the Pavilion Restaurant is via steps at the front of the building or level access via the side door.
Access to the Jurassic Mine Gift Shop is level; however lighting levels via the mine entrance are low. Please use the entrance on the other side of the building if you require higher lighting levels.
Terrain
Paths in the 90 acre park are generally tarmac. The terrain is generally flat with a few gentle slopes. The path that runs past the Red River hogs does include a fairly steep hill. If you will require assistance at this point please inform a member of staff.
Wheelchair Hire
There are a limited number of wheelchairs available for the frail and infirm. Your car keys or other item of value will be securely held as a deposit for the duration of your visit. Please reserve in advance on 01227 721286 to avoid disappointment.
Facilities
Toilet facilities including disabled toilets and baby changing are located at various points around the park and marked on the park maps.
Assistance dogs
We regret that dogs are not permitted within the park due to welfare regulations. Please make alternative arrangements for your dog before visiting. Please do not leave dogs in cars.
First aiders
A number of our staff are trained first aiders; however they are only equipped to assist with minor injuries. Please ask the nearest member of staff for first aid assistance.
Items not permitted in the park
We regret that balls, balloons, bikes, skateboards, rollerblades e.t.c are not permitted within the park. Please leave these items in your vehicle.
