Summer Activities

Join us at Howletts Wild Animal Park, near Canterbury, this summer to experience an exciting and educational day out for groups and families of all ages.  The park is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty – with wooded walkways and paths to explore along with educational and fun animal talks throughout the day, there is something new to discover around every corner.

We create the adventure and you keep the memory this summer, when you can watch our Education Team treat our animals to a different enrichment every day at the wild animal park.  From honey pots to hessian bundles, wind chimes and different feeders, our dedicated team will provide different animal treats every day as part of the August theme - A Treat A Day Keeps The Vet Away!

Join in with the themed Ranger Trails, events and talks taking place every day throughout the summer break.  Younger adventurers can pick up a free Ranger’s Log Book – an activity book designed to encourage them to be Rangers for the day and learn some interesting facts about the animals featured in our trails.

Walk amongst lemurs, come face to face with lions, tigers, giant anteaters and western lowland gorillas in their glass fronted enclosures, spot the latest and cutest new arrivals and even mimic the agile primates by trying the exciting Treetop Challenge – an obstacle course with rope bridges and zip wires, set in the trees.  For the younger adventurers, the Animal Adventure Challenge with climbing walls and wobbly walkways is bound to thrill!

Designed to be a centre of excellence for conservation, Howletts Wild Animal Park has large enclosures filled with natural foliage which provide camouflage, shelter and privacy for the animals.  It’s the perfect place to witness conservation in action.

With the continuation of the popular Passport scheme – the one day ticket that lasts all year, visitors can return as often as they wish for no extra charge and with plenty of new arrivals, different monthly themes and special events throughout half terms and holidays, there will always be something new to discover.

Check out our fun summer activities at our sister park, Port Lympne Wild Animal Park, Nr Ashford!
