Meet Santa Claus and his elves in his enchanted Gingerbread Grotto at selected weekends throughout November and December 2014 at Howletts Wild Animal Park, near Canterbury.
Santa will be merrily greeting families and giving away special Christmas gifts to children in his new grotto, The Gingerbread House.
Santa Claus will be greeting guests from 11 am – 4 pm on the following weekends:
22nd November – 23rd November
29th November – 30th November
6th December – 7th December
13th December – 14th December
20st December – 23rd December
Entry to the grotto is £6 per child, which includes a small face painting, free admission into the grotto for adults and a special gift for your child.
Souvenir photographs can be purchased for only £5.
Port Lympne passport holders will also be allowed entry to the Howletts Christmas grotto with no extra charge to enter the park (pre booking is essential for Port Lympne holders as Park entry will be refused if unable to include santa’s visit).
There is also the opportunity to enjoy exclusive Christmas shopping with free access to the Gatehouse gift shops at Howletts and Port Lympne Reserve, as well as special Passport and Gold Card Holder deals throughout November and December.
Santa’s Grotto Terms & Conditions 2014
All children must be accompanied by an adult/s to every Father Christmas visit,. In the event that adults without children would like to see Father Christmas the relevant child charge applies. A maximum of 7 persons including children are allowed in the Father Christmas Grotto for health & safety reasons in one session .
Tickets can be pre-booked by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org or 01227 723914. There are allocated time slots every 30 minutes from 11 AM – 4PM each day. If you purchase your Santa’s grotto ticket on the day, our staff will book you a time slot that may be available, however we cannot confirm that we will have availability, therefore pre-booking is advised. Please bring your ticket with you and arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the start of your Father Christmas session time. Without this proof of payment your visit may be compromised.
Please note: You may have to queue to show these tickets so allow plenty of time. If you are late for your appointment you may miss your time-slot. We will endeavour to allocate a new time on the day, however, if all time slots are filled on the day we may have to arrange another date for your visit.
The Father Christmas Concession is open in all weathers so please dress accordingly.
Refunds & Exchanges
Once booked, refunds are only applicable if Howletts Wild Animal Park is closed due to the following unforeseen circumstances:
1. Closure due to Health & Safety reasons
2. Technical problems which cannot be resolved meaning we cannot run our event
3. Extreme weather conditions i.e. Heavy Snow, flooding or dangerously high winds
Tickets are transferrable to a different date (if available) provided we are advised accordingly by e-mail or telephone at least 24 hours before the experience.
Any sessions that Howletts Wild Animal Park cancel due to extreme weather will be rescheduled on the next available day where possible. If, in the event of extreme weather and a reschedule cannot be arranged, a full refund will be given via the original method of payment.

Our Gingerbread Grotto has a wide entrance for wheelchair users however, due to space, we can only accommodate a maximum of two wheelchairs per Father Christmas visit.
We cannot be held responsible for any belongings left unattended.
