Visitors to Port Lympne Reserve, Kent’s largest wild animal park, this Easter holiday are guaranteed a cracking day out of Jurassic proportions, as the long awaited Dinosaur Forest at the Reserve, opens to the public.

Book your single day visit tickets online to save 10%(not valid on family tickets).

From Friday 25th March, visitors can marvel at mighty dinosaurs and discover life sized and anatomically correct prehistoric creatures including mammals, birds and amphibians, as they take a journey through time, stretching from the Devonian to the Quaternary periods.

Bob O’Connor, Managing Director said: ‘We’re delighted to open this epic experience for the Easter holidays.  The authentic models, created and hand painted in Germany, will include favourites such as the T-Rex, Diplodocus and Velociraptor alongside stranger and lesser known creatures from throughout the prehistoric ages.’

As the popular wild animal park continues its 40th birthday celebrations, visitors will be invited to take part in free activities, including fact packed dinosaur tours, crafts and games, plus take part in the Maze Trail to win exciting prizes. Meanwhile, across the park, the Education Team will be shining a spotlight on the popular Malayan tapirs – a species that has remained unchanged for approximately 20 million years.

Adrian Harland, Animal Director added: ‘Easter is a wonderful time to visit Port Lympne, Spring has truly arrived and the Reserve is coming to life after the winter season.  We always enjoy a baby boom at this time of year, so visitors will be able to spot all our new arrivals. This Easter, we’ve got a cracking programme of events taking place every day at various times  plus, on Easter Monday, visitors can bring their families to watch our family of gorillas as we treat them to a very special Easter Egg Hunt at midday.’

In other news, the Reserve near Ashford, has announced the exciting arrival of spectacled bears.  The bear pair, the first spectacled bears in the County, will be settling into their new home over the Easter holidays.

Adrian added: ‘The bears will eventually be sharing their new home with other South American animals, including capuchin monkeys, capybara and ring tailed coatis – the collective noun of which is a party!  This is set to be one of the most interesting mixed enclosures that we have created and I’m sure that our visitors will love seeing our new arrivals exploring their new home.’

Port Lympne will be open every day throughout the Easter holiday period and activities will take place daily from Friday 25th March to Sunday 17th April 2016.  Visitors can save 10% off day entry tickets when they book online via the park’s website.
